We have completed a ton of projects at Cumberland Baptist Institute and Parkers Mill Road Baptist Church. Those projects will be outlined here as opposed to the Tech Project page.

Current Projects
CBI eLearning
We are currently working on setting up eLearning at Cumberland Baptist Institute. We are going to be doing video conferencing as well as self-pace learning. All 3 tiers of learning be it on-site, video conferencing, and self-pace will utilize our LMS. This will help cut wasted class time for exams as they can be taken from home and off-class days. It will also help reduce the workload on educators and administrators by allowing the LMS to manage assignments and grading. With some custom programming that we are doing the LMS and our SIS will be able to sync changes and grades.

Site Migration
To help cut costs at CBI and PMRBC we are working to migrate our sites to a single hosting provider. This will keep everything in one place as well as reduce our operating cost. Projected cost savings for this migration would be roughly $800 per year over 3 years, then lowering to $300 per year after that.

Completed Projects
Here’s a list of projects and brief overview of things we have completed for our home church as well as for the school.

Network Implementation:
Our church campus has connectivity between all buildings using multi-mode fiber at 1Gbps. The exception to this would be CBI which is fed via wireless bridge which has a max rate of 100mbps. Staff have access to the church and school networks via VPN.

Each building has complete wireless coverage using managed wireless. We have a wireless network that supplies network access to devices that are owned by the church and school. We also have a guest network which is isolated from all other virtual networks and equipment. Church members and visitors as well as students and staff at the school have full wireless access in every inch of every building on site.

In the future we hope to upgrade everything to 10Gbps single mode fiber as well as bring everything back to our central closet. Hardware wise we support 1 central core router, 6 access points, 8 switches, 3 servers and over 1.1 miles of cable.

Video Streaming
Our church streams all services (Sunday school, am, pm, Wednesday, and special services). This is accomplishment hinges on our network being reliable and a couple video cameras and capture devices. For this we use the following
HP ProDesk 800 G1 with an i7 Processor, 16GB RAM, and 500GB SSD.
Canon VIXIA R80 Camera
Basic Tripod and HDMI Cables
Elgato CamLink (for connecting the camera to the computer)
OBS – Open Broadcaster software, which is free.
Castr.io – CDN for pushing video feed to YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

We record audio as well and upload it to our web server. We developed a small PHP script that will sort all uploaded files via their creation date and make the available to listen to or download. For audio recording we use Audacity.

Security Cameras
We have been doing our own security cameras in house for years now. We host our own security camera server which allows all buildings on our campus to record back to a single location. All cameras are viewable via mobile phone app. We maintain 30+ cameras across 4 buildings.
